Recovery has gone well since the in-line skating workshop last weekend. Obviously the pain must not have been but so bad since I just signed up for Eddy's *September* class at his Skate Farm now. < sigh > Along with that I splurged on some new skates. K2 Radical 90's!

Alas, I'm trying the leap from the 4 80mm wheel/fixed frame and fitness boot that I've skated in for the past 3 or so years to 4 90mm wheels, separate frame and slimmer boot--almost put the back out again in the first minute of skating in them. ~_~ That first skate also took the leap of getting rid of the heel brake on the right skate. That was scary. Ahwell...

I think I'll wait a few more minutes before trying a 5-wheel skate. Sometimes speed is fun, but often flexibility and maneuverability are kind of nice to have as well.

Staying in practice?

So what happens when you make your trip? Will you lose all sorts of new-found skills by not being able to practice? :-) Still, they sound like fun. Just make sure you don't end up with any injuries that would cancel the trip!

well...it will take a few weeks to work back up to the same *endurance* level but I think the techniques learned will still be there. I switched back to the 4x80mm fitness skates for todays run, but will probably go back to the 4x90's tomorrow. Next will be looking up a custom boot, but maybe do that in San Francisco on the way back.

oh and cute icon!
