Icons...avatars...are they who people are? Or do people become their avatar..

Actually one of the first times I came across that term was watching Star Blazers many many many years ago. I taped almost every one of those episodes off the air. Yah...that VHS stuff....tape.

Captain Avatar...funny...something was strangely engaging about that anime.

At the time...I didn't even know it was...anime.

Maybe it was being just bored with...domestic animation at the time. But...I made sure I got home from work in time to catch the next episode...ah...those were the days.

"A man pushed an overstuffed shopping cart along the adjacent path, bringing a relative commotion of labored breath and squeaky wheels. Several blocks away, a driver used his horn. The elm's leaves hung perfectly still."

Well...just finished the Cap2Cap Century...it was a nice ride...though it was in the mid- to high-80's, muggy, and 15mph winds from the...well...it seemed from all over. So it was hydrate-hydrate-hydrate. Did I mention I had to drink a lot?

'now to soak...

'Cycling in the Shenandoah is sure a heck of a lot different than cycling back home. 500 foot climbs might not be too bad over the course of a mile or 2 or 3...or 4...but those kind of altitude changes just don't happen back *this* way at *any* distance. Komatta!!

Back in FlatLand, today's ride was roughly 70 miles in almost 5 hours...'still way behind on total milage.

Time to check the actual route back on the Left Coast.

Our Maine Coon, Priscilla, just had her ultrasound this morning to look at a lump in her abdomen. It turned out to be an aggressive tumor that started in her intestines and had made it to her liver. So the vet. said she has maybe a few weeks left.

She'll let us know when it's time.

"Give them a thousand of these nights, or five thousand, drenched in long shadows and half-light. Not even April yet, the whole of spring and summer still ahead."

'sounds like a photograph just waiting to happen under the watchful eye of the [livejournal.com profile] lovelyangel. =^_^=

The Squiggy Inline skate race is this weekend! So I'm in Florida for a few days. The train ride down was relaxing as usual, 'cept for the battery in my 15-inch Power Book flat lined on me. Now it won't even boot! ~_~;;

front of a CRT. Well...it *has* been quite a while since I've actually worked on a CRT...so life has been mostly in front of flat panels...for many days of the week...for many hours of the day...at work and at home...

Life away from the flat panel has been an ALmost finished single speed/fixie bike and a in-line skate race in 2 weeks that I have not had *any* time to train for...see above...oh and the weather. Bleh...

Katsu was fun...did I already say that?

"Blow my mind," Oreo mumbled. "Holy rodents."

It looks like Oregonians are being TOO good about driving fuel efficient vehicles. Oregon wants to start taxing people by the miles they drive instead of the gas they consume to make up for lost gas tax dollars. Interesting...
