The Left Coast
Oct. 22nd, 2005 09:19 amWell, 'back on the Left Coast for a quick visit with friends. The trip across yesterday was definitely a mixed affair, but obviously a successful one as we did manage to safely arrive. It got off to a rocking start where the flight was already delayed 30 minutes due to "crew rest" requirements, though considering the queue to get through security, I really didn't mind having the extra time.
Of course, these days for flying it's almost preferable to dress half naked just to eliminate issues getting through the checkpoints. Anyway, the crew doesn't show up until about the time we were supposed to be leaving so it's at least another half hour before they get everyone loaded up and pushed back which now has us an hour later than scheduled bumping up against the 75 minute layover in MSP. Oh, yeah, on top of that we had an aborted take-off. That was interesting to go through.
The second segment to SEA was smooth flying. I drag out "House of Flying Daggers" to watch after lunch was served, and get 1 hour 50 minutes through the 1 hour and *59* minute movie and I have to shut down for approach and landing. There she was, dying in his arms...I don't know how it ended...yet.
