Another August Trip #1

The August trip to NH for the family reunion. I'm heading up early to spend a few days with my parents before the rest of the family shows up later on this weekend.
Today's stop-over point is Wilkes-Barre PA close to the usual haunt that Ann and I have stayed in times past...well except this trip it's just me. Ann has some other appointments that will keep her south until later on this week. The Woodlands was rather packed as there are 4 different wedding parties due to use various parts of the hotel complex this weekend.
One upside of the chaos was getting to meet a Japanese-American couple at the bar while I was eating dinner (to make up for having to stay at another hotel and actually walk to the Woodlands...sigh). He is from a town just outside of Hiroshima and we had a great chat recalling different seasons and regions of Japan. It was quite nice really. Since his wife and son (and daughter-in-law) weren't really Japanese speakers so the conversation was maybe 30% Japanese and 70% English...but that's alright. I exhaust my usable Japanese pretty quickly these days.
