The New Hampshire Blogs, Entry # 6
Nov. 1st, 2003 06:12 amIt was another unusually mild day here, particularly considering where this is and what time of year it is, but I'm not going to complain. I got out in the driveway for about 40 minutes worth of drills on the skates. We won't belabor the details, but there appear to still be some quantum exclusion principles for allowed skate states occurring.
Mid-afternoon Mom and I headed out to pick up Ann who, like me, took the train up for this visit. The closest station is not quite an hours drive from here, but it was a pleasant drive and, like I mentioned previously, it was another gorgeous day. The train arrived within seconds of when it was supposed to < shinjirarenai > and shortly after which we walked across the road to a restaurant for dinner with a local friend who lives right there in town. Ann got to know her during her Berkshire Choral Festival days out in Santa Fe (NM).
There were about 12 or so trick-or-treaters that happened by the house in the evening. Dad put on a mustache, mask and checkered hat to greet the kids at the door (he's not often quite that animated). It was fun.
So, all in all, a good day. We all need more of those.
