すずみやはるひの憂鬱
May. 31st, 2007 05:07 pmSpeaking of the extras...on the first DVD, I'm voting for commercial #2 Version.1! Though...I would be hard pressed to tell someone the exact difference between version 1 and version 2...either way...the "making of" segments were kind of fun.
I think on my next trip to Tokyo I'm tracking down the Arakawa-sen since it doesn't seem to be far from Nippori. ^_^

Well...GITS:SAC 2nd GIG showed up on the doorstep Thursday, but I discovered there was no Japanese language soundtrack to be heard on the first DVD. Neither the laptop nor the DVD player could bring it up. :( So this is one of my first returns to RS. Sigh...I guess when one buys enough, that will happen.
So to get my fix I re-watched the 1995 movie Ghost In The Shell. Describing it as just intense would be short-changing it some, but we've likely had this conversation before so I won't belabor the point. After I try to come down from some of the intriguing questions of life, maybe it will be time to head out for dinner.

Sep. 6th, 2006 07:05 pmit's kind of unfortunate...well, maybe funny as well, that one of the first anime i was introduced to o-so many years ago was project a-ko (mach go-go-go and starblazers aside). back then the hilarious tongue-deeply-embedded-in-cheek nature of the anime totally escaped me lacking the background as to say...so it is that much more fun digging the old vhs tapes out and watching things anew...おかしいですね!

The train ride up to Boston yesterday was fairly uneventful (fortunately), though NY Penn Station that we passed through in the afternoon had *not* been without a bit of excitement earlier that morning. I got SOME reading done, but after a while it was easy to just doze watching the country side and occasional cityscapes whiz on by.
A short list of items gathered on this afternoon's foraging about various shops.
1. Ghost in the Shell
2. Cowboy Bebop The Movie
3. The Secret of Twilight Gemini
Well, actually that isn't a complete list by any stretch, maybe just some particulars that anyone reading this might be familiar with. I escaped unscathed from the Apple Store in Lechemere (wow that place was jam packed) without any damage to the wallet as well...*this* time. Also, left empty handed from Old Navy, The Gap and other sundry typical mall shops. I'll be spending enough later on this month. ~_^
It started out a rather warm day with occasionally drizzles but ended with cold, drenching rain that neither of us were prepared for after dinner. I guess not living up here one forgets how fast things can change. So, Anne and I got soaked on the way back from dinner and hopefully we'll manage to dry off and warm up some before heading out to a club later tonight.
