The Whore's Child
Sep. 6th, 2003 06:54 pmIt's the title of a book that Ann is currently reading written by Richard Russo. That may be a familiar name for anyone who slogged through "She's Not There" by Jennifer Finney Boylan. Though Jenny seems to have ended up a bit of a controversial person, Richard Russo has been pretty rock-solid in how people view him. Amazing and thought-provoking come to mind. Ann was so intrigued by him in Ms. Boylan's book and from an on-line excerpt she read, she ordered 3 of his books from Amazon (and bought a forth at Kramer's if you happen by Dupont Circle much).
I'm getting strong vibes this evening that once she manages to put down "The Whore's Child" that I will have to pick it up and read it myself. She's quite impressed with him as a writer and it's not even a 'trans' book. (Gee, there are those quotes again. I thought I got rid of them a few journal entries ago.)
