Late nights, early mornings...
Aug. 29th, 2003 05:50 amI'm not used to this kind of schedule. My typical day is up around 4am, at work by 5 or 5:30 (a nice 8 to 10 minute commute at that time in the morning), out by 3 (to get an extra hour of work in), afternoon workout, dinner and evening hobbies/chores/errands/leftover to-do's from last week (and the week before)/etc.
Visiting my SO where she lives and works, that schedule gets alllll turned around. Finally out the door by 7:30 or 8 for roughly an hour long commute in to town, MAYbe getting out by 5 or 6, don't think about dinner until 7, another hour gone to the commute back to the condo.
Last night I got to be the "spouse" at a very work related after-work wine & cheese social sponsored by her boss's boss, John M.. Now her boss is already fairly high in this organization, so this was interesting. Also interesting was the fact that it was still *work.* But I had a good time. It turns out both John and his wife are intensely interesting in Japanese culture and architecture. So much so that their house up in NY is half European style and half Japanese style. Now *that's* something *I* could get used to!
